Makeup of the Day:
Chocolate Smokey Eye

I decided to go a little over the top with my makeup look yesterday even though I was only going on a Walmart run for some rabbit food. Below is a selfie straight from Instagram. I can literally count the amount of times I've worn a smokey eye, mostly because I never liked how black shadow looked on me. I decided that a deep chocolate brown would be a tad more wearable for daytime and less harsh. I have listed all the products I used to achieve this look as well as some close ups of the eye makeup. I might do a step by step picture tutorial to offer some blending tips and tricks once I figure out the best way to do that ;)

The heaps of products I used to achieve this look. You don't necessarily need these specific products for this look. I recommend using what you have and use whatever works best for you.  Also, Blend blend blend that shadow!

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Maya Mia Palette (Sienna and Caramel in the crease, Deep Brown all over the lid, Nude over the brow bone, Vanilla in the inner eye corners)
  • Maybelline 24 hr Color Tattoo Leather Collection in Drama Black to prime the lid
  • Maybelline Master Conceal Concealer in Light/Medium to highlight the face
  • Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick in 330 to contour
  • NYC Sunny Bronzer to bronze and set contour

UPDATE: Matte Confidence

I finally found her in a Walgreens in Whittier, CA not too far from my house. I also grabbed some Rimmel Provocalips so I'll be reviewing those as well soon! Enjoy these photos of the Milani Moisture Matte Lipstick in Matte Confidence

Here it is in all it's glory!

Here I am wearing it on my lips. I'm a L'Oreal True Match W4/5 for reference :)
Also, my lips are looking giant in this picture but I guess it makes a huge canvas for lipstick haha.

Thanks for reading!

Review and Swatches:
Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick

I have an obsession with all things Matte, matte foundation, matte lipstick, matte eyeshadow! So, when I went to Walgreens a week ago, I just grabbed all things with the word matte on them. I went into Walgreens with the intention of picking up the new Milani Lippies since I completely missed the boat on their limited edition versions. Each display has two lipsticks per color. There are 8 colors in total. I grabbed Matte Naked and Matte Blissful but I am still on the hunt for Matte Confidence. The good news is that they are now on sale on the Milani website and you can get free shipping with orders over 25 dollars here

Here are the two colors I chose. The packaging is the same sleek gold tube as the regular color statement line. My lippies did not have a safety seal on them which might be a cause for concern for some. But! you can order online if you want to make sure no one tampered with your lipstick.

Here are the lipsticks uncapped with Matte Blissful on the Left and Matte Naked on the Right. Matte Naked has to be my favorite of the two. It is a great every day color that can go with multiple eye shadow looks. Matte Blissful is a little too pink for my particular liking but I don't completely dislike it.

Matte Naked is a dusty rose nude color while Matte Blissful is a cooler toned light pink. The formula of these matte lipsticks is fantastic! It is not drying like others i.e. Wet n' Wild and it is so comfortable on the lips. The color payoff from each of these is equally fantastic since I only have to swipe my lips twice to get a good even coverage of color on the lip. These do have a scent similar to MAC lipsticks(vanilla marshmallow)  but a little more subtle. I don't mind the scent, I actually like it better than the weird watermelon cucumber scent of the regular Milani line. Wear time is moderate since it does not claim to be long wearing. You can get a good 4 hours of wear with these before needing to reapply.

I recommend these lipsticks 100 percent!  At under 6 dollars, you are getting an awesome formula and amazing color payoff. I've already worn these so many times and love the matte look they give off. Unlike the L'oreal liquid lipsticks that I reviewed earlier, these Milani Lipsticks are truly matte and on trend. 5 stars out of five for the Milani Moisture Matte Lipsticks!
